Enthusiastic, optimistic and a tad naive, Zip is our main character, a young man who has just dropped out of college to pursue an exciting and rewarding career in the webcomic enterprise(or so his dad told him...).
He turns out to be good filler material, without any sort of role restrictions, for reasons still unknown. While he thinks the career must be as groovy as it can be, he was kicked out home to try and make a living, and turned to his only friend in the business(or, rather, slight acquiatance) for a place to stay.
And so he pursues his newfound dream of being the best filler ever employed in Webcomics United, with mixed results and never losing the steam.
Fun Fact: He has full control over his hair''s growth!
Zip's father is a stickman who believes the webcomic enterprise must be better for his son than it was to him(or his brother, Steve). He does not like the idea of his only son being a Filler, a career he believes holds no future, but has to put up with the fact his son is actually able to buy his parents a brand new TV set.
He's actually a nice guy, though, and hopes his dear son to be succesful... after having a change of mind and getting a real stable job at a big webcomic.
Fun Fact:
Formerly a webcomic starlet, she left the business just before the so-called "Sprite Comic Bubble" bursted, leaving with a handsome stickman to form a family.
As a loving mother, she hopes for the best of his son and is ready to defend him from John's animosity towards his inconsequential choices. She also has a good preious knowledge on how the webcomic business works, and is ready to give out a hint whenever needed.
Fun Fact: Voted Sexiest Sprite Character of the 80's.
Zip's first friend in the business, Jello is the owner of their home, and also the sensible head of the duo, as well as a source of exposition for Zip as he gets to know better what sort of business he's in.
He also has a girlfriend who works as a Prop as well, but he doesn't feel like bragging about it.
Fun Fact: He was red when younger, but has been prematurely "bluing".
Zip's biggest and furriest friend, Theo is a big burly nerd whose entrance in the webcomic business was rather forced by the fact that his mother was not able to provide him with money for his comics anymore.
He's overly friendly and has a tendence to talk slowly, as well as a loving for pin-ups of 80's video game female characters.
Fun Fact: He's the youngest child of his family. Also, the smallest.
Starting as a humble booth attendant handing out licenses and picking forms with all sorts of webcomic syndicate workers, she quickly climbed the empresarial ladder, finally becoming Vice-President of Human Resources, a position that allows her to oversee some of the oddest decisions made on that strange company that is the Webcomics United Syndicate.
She is currently getting prepared for the "Big 4 Meeting", but is still keeping an eye on Zip's odd misclassification...
Fun Fact: She never lets her hair down. Never.
The past of this CIO of Webcomics United is a mystery, but there are rumors. Some of them claim he's actually a character from a newspaper strip, and others claim his mother is a shark. As you can see, one can never trust rumors.
But one thing is sure: he does know how to keep secrets, and still keep his humor!
Fun Fact: That shading is all artificial.
Jello's girlfriend is a lively young woman who took odd measures to ensure better job opportunities. It was hard to train and be able to turn into vegetables, but it sure was worth it.
Fun Fact: Since finishing her phytomorph training, she can do photosynthesis.
